About this tool

This QR code generator turns any text or URL into a QR code with your choice of size, foreground and background colour and error-correction level, downloadable as PNG or SVG.

How to use it

  1. Enter the URL or text.
  2. Choose the size and error-correction level.
  3. Pick foreground and background colours.
  4. Download the QR code as PNG or SVG.

Good to know

  • Error correction levels recover roughly 7% (L), 15% (M), 25% (Q) or 30% (H) of damaged or covered modules.
  • Higher error correction makes the code denser, so keep it at M unless you plan to add a logo or print on rough surfaces.
  • Dark codes on a light background scan most reliably; low contrast or inverted colours can fail on some scanners.
  • SVG output scales to any size without blurring, which is best for print.

Runs entirely in your browser — nothing you enter is uploaded or stored.

Frequently asked questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. The QR code contains your text or URL directly, so it keeps working as long as the destination exists.

PNG or SVG — which should I download?

Use SVG for print and design tools, since it scales without losing quality. PNG is simplest for web pages and documents.

Which error correction level should I choose?

Medium (15%) suits most uses. Choose High (30%) if the code may get scratched or you want to overlay a small logo.

Is my text sent anywhere?

No. The QR code is generated in your browser.
